Since 2019 with the project Doublin', Cavana nights have once more been illuminated by "red lights”, artist lights dedicated to James Joyce, who lived in Trieste between 1904 and 1920 and frequented Cavana, whose maze of alleys was then full of taverns and brothels.
The Cavana Stories tours are night tours to discover the history of this popular district, which was also home to consulates, a refuge for fishermen, and a source of inspiration for artists and writers.
Accompanied by the guide Francesca Pitacco, on a path punctuated by light installations, we will meet James Joyce and Nora Barnacle, Zeno Cosini with his love torments, the poems of Umberto Saba and Claudio Grisancich, Trieste folk songs, the memories of Pino Roveredo and the events narrated by Ricarda Huch.
And also the Muta and other unforgettable characters who inhabit the memories of Cavana
