Bazzara Academy, in the heart of Trieste, is accredited as a Premier Training Campus by the SCA - Specialty Coffee Association - and as an IIAC Academy by the International Institute of Coffee Tasters.

The 250sqm of the Bazzara Academy host a Tasting Area, Roasting Area, Classroom, Brewing Area, Barista Training Area and Lounge Area. It is equipped with the latest equipment, and can allocate individual workstations to different students simultaneously.

The Bloom Coffee School is the training arm of Imperator, a long-established importer of raw coffee. The school delivers a wide range of training on aspects of the world of coffee and offers all courses and certifications of the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Coffee Skills Program, Caffetteria Italiana courses, consultations for companies, training campuses and Grade Q professional courses.

The Bloom Coffee School is recognised by SCA as a Premier Training Campus and has won international recognition for its training.

The name "bloom" suggests flowering, the initial phase of a renaissance, which reflects what is happening in the coffee sector; it also refers to the pre-infusion phase of coffee preparation, when the aromas locked inside the ground coffee form and burst free.

The Sandalj Trading Company was founded over half a century ago as a specialist importer of quality green coffee.

A taster by profession and a tireless traveller by inclination, Vincenzo Sandalj was a pioneer of the coffee industry, co-founder and President of SCA and the Associazione Caffè Trieste, and a founding partner of Qualicaf and Trieste Coffee Cluster.

The Accademia del Caffè Sandalj originated in 2001 from an idea of Vincenzo and Edy Bieker, to meet the need for training and instruction available to all. The Academy offers customised courses on the evaluation of raw coffee, blending and espresso tasting, plus SCA certified courses.
