It runs along the old Austrian railroad crossing the wonderful Istrian countryside and connecting two sea cities: Trieste and Poreč. 

It is most recommended to start the cycling tour from Muggia, reaching this beautiful village by the sea, taking the Delfino Verde boat from Trieste. 

Nowadays the Istrian countryside, now sparsely populated, is highly charming thanks to its medieval villages, olive tree groves, vineyards and gentle hills following one another to the sea.
