Itinerary suggested by the Gal Carso supported bike network

This route starts at the village of Basovizza, home to pastry shops, osmize (small farms that offer food and drink), trattorias and controversial memorials to the tragic events of the last century. Basovizza and the nearby town of Draga can be reached by car or bike, even starting from Opicina at the tram’s terminus, or along the Cottur cycle path that begins in central Trieste.

Starting in Basovizza or Draga, enjoy an exotic few kilometres of cycling in Slovenia and then head down towards the Venetian town of Muggia. From Muggia you can reach Trieste without pedalling by taking a pleasant boat trip with the ’Delfino Verde' public transport line.

Check tram and Delfino Verde timetables, and maximum bike capacity, before setting out.
