A Tribute to Miró

from April 29 to October 15

At the Revoltella Museum a journey through the creative world of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century
A Tribute to Miró
In Trieste, at the prestigious setting of the Revoltella Museum - Gallery of Modern Art, from April 29 to October 15, a "Tribute to Miró" is presented, an exhibition of approximately 80 works including paintings, tempera paintings, watercolours, drawings, sculptures and ceramics from French museums and private collections, complemented by a series of graphic works, books and documents as well as a multimedia section.

The curators are art critic Achille Bonito Oliva, together with Maïthé Vallès-Bled (a former director of French museums) and Vincenzo Sanfo, an art expert and organiser of major international exhibitions.

The important group of works covers a period of six decades of the career of Joan Miró, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century and an exponent of the Surrealist current: from 1924 to 1981, with a focus specifically on the transformation of pictorial languages that the Catalan artist began to develop in the first half of the 1920s and documenting his artistic metamorphoses in the fields of drawing, painting, collage and tapestry works. In fact, Maestro Miró's artistic production makes use of a multitude of forms and means of expression, from painting to ceramics to graphic work, which allowed him to express his innovative spirit using marks, colours and surfaces.

Thanks to the tourist tax, a promotion is in effect whereby anyone staying at least one night in the city, booking directly at participating accommodation facilities, will be granted a free FVG Card which includes a free admission ticket to the exhibition.
