Museum of the Civilization of Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia
The Museum of the Civilization of Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia is a testament to the Italian culture that existed in these lands
The museum exhibit was created from material purchased over time, furnishings relegated to "Warehouse 18" (made famous in a performance by Italian singer Simone Cristicchi) in the Old Port and numerous archaeological artefacts, works of art, documents, books, prints, drawings and photographs.

The Museum of the Civilization of Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia is arranged on three floors.
The first floor has the reception areas and two terminals for consulting the digital archives. The second and third floors have a series of rooms where visitors can learn about the history of these lands, immersing themselves in agricultural and maritime Istria, taking a journey through space and time to "meet" the painters, writers, musicians and men of culture who have studied and loved Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia since the eighteenth century, and exploring the sad events of World War II.

The final display focuses on the destiny of the hundreds of thousands of refugees who were forced into exile, showing visitors objects and papers they brought with them when they fled, and trunks and boxes full of memories that they had to leave behind in order to build a new life.
