Al Toscano
The site of the Al Toscano restaurant dates from 1870, as stated on the stone lintel above the entrance.
At that time, it was a place to take a break and eat, along the road to Postojna in Slovenia. Over the years, Trieste residents went there to enjoy a modest snack accompanied by a good glass of wine. It was a typical fritolin, where they fried fish, then a pub serving sandwiches and finally a restaurant.
It offers traditional Tuscan cuisine, from ribollita (bread and vegetable soup) to grilled meat, which is the reason why regular customers named it "Al Toscana".
In the summer, guests can dine outdoors in the garden.
